Disney Closes Propaganda Games

Propaganda Games, the studio behind Turok and Tron: Evolution, has been restricted down by parent company Walter Elias Disney Synergistic.

Founded in 2005 by veterans of EA Canada, the Vancouver-founded Propaganda had only two games to its credit, the 2008 Turok reboot and Tron: Evolution, the linkup to the 2010 Walt Disney moving picture Tron: Legacy. A tierce visualise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, was canceled in October 2010, a move which Disney said at the clock time "completed a restructuring of Propaganda Games, its Vancouver, B.C. internal studio."

With Tron: Phylogenesis and its launch-Day DLC out of the way, Propaganda appears to consume fallen victim to more, and more serious, restructuring. "Disney Interactive Studios confirms the occlusion of its Vancouver-based internal pun development studio apartment, Propaganda Games," the company same in a statement to Joystiq. "The studio apartment has complete all work associated with its well-nig late project."

It's not exactly a fond and tearful farewell, just unfortunately for Propaganda it's not exclusively surprising either. Movie-settled videogames are pretty such a trade good these days; it might equal important that Irrational makes BioShock Sempiternal but which studio churns out the latest quick-and-dirty ti to a blockbuster film is almost entirely irrelevant. That makes them a unprocessed target for cuts; that's not an bill of indictment of Propaganda, it's just the nature of the business.

We here at The Wishful thinker extend our best wishes to everyone at Propaganda who's been affected aside the closure.
